Should #qlpickup.eu ask Quake Live devs for private servers?

quake-live-poll

In the last few days we couldn't help but notice how clanbase has nearly 30 private Quake Live servers to their disposal to run CB competitions.

clanbase-quake-live-servers1This made us curious if it would be reasonable for us to ask 1 or 2 private servers for #qlpickup.eu as well. Just for the sake of refiring some of that interest in those pickup games Quakers have come to love in the past few years.

What type of maps would you like to see more of in Quake Live? [POLL]

Posted by Malice

quake-live-pollSince the previous poll about two weeks ago, it has been established that more than 90% of the people passing by this website think Quake Live is worth a score of at least 3 out of 5.

Today we're curious to know what type of maps all of you would prefer to see more of in Quake Live.

It was previously said that the creation of new maps in Quake Live would depend on the success of the game.

Seeing how Quake Live received more attention than id software had ever dared to hope upon launch, I can only guess they are taking this as a sign to start mapping even more!

Just to make it even more interesting I also added the qzTRAINING option, even though there's currently only one map like that and it's not at all sure id software will ever make more of these.

This poll allows you to select max 2 options and will probably run about 2 weeks.

What’s your first impression of Quake Live? [POLL]

Posted by Malice

quake-live-pollIt's been 10 days since Quake Live went public beta. The press and interest for the  game proved to be overwhelming and totally unexpected, as many first timers had to queue up for hours and hours trying to play the game for the very first time.

Today things have settled, the queue system has been removed and things are running smooth again.

Now that everybody has had the chance to test the game we were wondering what your first impression of Quake Live was, the very first time you played.

You can rate your first impression from a number from 0 to 5 and optionally share your thoughts in the comments.

How often do you play Quake Live? [POLL]

Posted by Malice

quake-live-pollTwo weeks ago we did a poll here where we asked about your Quake Live FOV. Nearly 400 people voted and the clear winner, with over 40% of the votes, was the 101 - 110 FOV setting.

Today we're going to continue the trend of having a regular poll. This time we're curious enough to ask you all how much time you spend every week playing Quake Live.

You can very easily check your play time for the last 7 days in the leaderboards by using the customize option.

What FOV do you use in Quake Live? [POLL]

Posted by searrard

quake-live-pollOne of the classic discussions in just about any First Person Shooter revolves around the FOV people use.

The Field of View (or FOV) is a setting you can change which determines how much of the map is visible to you. To change your FOV in Quake Live just open the console and type cg_fov 100, or any other value between 75 (close-up) and 130 (great map overview). The standard FOV in Quake Live is 90.

Some say a low FOV will improve your accuracy. Others say a high FOV allows more flexibility and improves your movement. There are definitely several arguments possible for both low and high FOVs:
