Domain transfer completed! (or not?)
So,
to keep this archive of many awesome great userfriendly tutorials and guides going, I moved it to another host. A renewal was due and of course I wanted to move to a more optimal hosting with regards to what is needed for which amount of ping ping!
Initial migration was easy, full ftp and mysql dump, and the followup restoration, but a few things went crazy.
- plugins: fixed!
- minor styling/path issues: fixed!
- a system path which did not feel like opening up to the rest of the website due to a forgotten htaccess from previous host: fixed!
But 1 thing remains and I've cracked my head on it during the weekend but I can't seem to find out why the theme goes nutters when you enter a post. The post is there (woohoo) but the sidebar and footer area is missing. Sooner or later, I'll figure this out, the important part is that the data is restored and accessible, but if there are wordpress heroes out there, I do prefer sooner over later as this thing drives me coucou!
Quake Live update 15 march 2011
Id Software released an update today that requires you to reinstall the plugin. Just giving you a heads-up. As usual a few premium maps have been added, one of which some of you might remember quite well from the Christmas period: Distant Screams .This is a stripped down Silent Night. The second map that has been added is a duel map named Toxicity.

It's that time of year again, where people gather together, share precious moments and blast each other to pieces. Yes I'm talking about the Quake Live Winter Holiday season, those few weeks where we have Christmas-tinted maps. For the second time around, Silent Night is being spawned all over the place, but it's not only CTF that's treated to a winter map, also oldskool map The Edge sees the light of day, and may I say a very bright light since it has many cute decorations, aimed to cheer you up while gibbing or freezing opponents. And not just that, you can do it as Santa himself!

QL Update: Premium Pack 4
Wow, it's already November and that means the 4th content update!
SyncErrorTwo new arenas, 20 new premium awards and our first of many advanced server options!
What he doesn't highlight at first is that yesterday's update also involved a needed back-end update regarding the Quake Live database, which no doubt should affect website performance, especially concerning profile requesting and statistics.
But let's see what Quake Live has in stock for us this month:

QL update: Finnegan’s and other stuff!
Not too long ago - September 28th: content and skill matching - Quake Live got it's 1st content update pack with 4 additional maps. Alas, no CTF map present there, but rejoice as Finnegan's has made the cut. Besides Finnegan's - better known to old-school Quake players as W3 - 3 other maps and a series of game changes are live since today's update.
So let's go over the worth-mentioning things in the October update:
