Ive seen on a ctf guide on holysh1t where i believe he/she was describing binds that only your team sees, referring to them as "teamsay binds". Ive tried typing in several things into my console, all of which have failed, ex: /bind 1 sayteam more on d /bind 1 teamsay more on d If team chat binds even exist, what do i type into my console? Why? I pretty much always get one hit it feels. I'll hit somebody with rockets twice, and they'll hit me once and I'm dead. I want to do this in an orderly fashion and not go all mental like most newbies do and post a random collection of questions at once. First of all, I've checked the FAQ so I won't bother you with questions about how I get l33t colors in my nick. Maybe the people who are so kind to reply can copy the question and paste it along with their answer. Just to keep the overview and keep it useful for others as well. Main problem: I'm new in this scene and I'm not connected (cfr. friends, clans, switched from other game) Bit more info: I'm from belgium and I've played q2 for years. My old clans and friends are all gone and I never made the swith to q3. I don't have anyone to ask for some tips/advice so I wanna try my luck here. 1.1 Servers So QL is a browser game which looks almost -imo- identical to Q3. Is it possible to play on a server where ppl play using their Q3 client and others the QL browser version? Or are it indeed 2 different stand-alone games? 1.2 Servers What are the most popular servers? In my q2 days you had e.g. telenet/fragland/jolt server. Can I find a list somewhere with the ip adresses or do I need some program for that e.g. gamespy, all seeing eye,... If I'm not mistaken I believe Q3 had an implemented server list. 2. Configs/locs/timers I've read the guides on making configs so that I'll find out myself. However, I know there were loc files and timers in q3, as well as in q2. (Thank you Cx) Is this still applicable and do these work in QL? If so, where can people get these files? 3. CTF/TDM/Insta/RA3 Is there an order of popularity? I used to play TDM and afterwards RailOnly. From what I've read CTF is the way to go. Are there specific configs/binds etc for each type of mod? 4. mIRC I'm currently sometimes residing in #qlpickup.eu Are there any other (belgian) irc chans where a lot of ppl of the scene are united? 5. naabs! What are the best ways to improve for beginners? Are there servers/clans more oriented on beginners. At the moment I'm mostly playing offline matches and just run through maps to get some 'map knowledge'. Yesterday I've played some matches on an Instagib server so I wouldn't be slaughtered immediately. I ended mostly with rail acc. +/- 25% and was able to sometimes finish in top 3. (yes, there were more than 3 players, thank you <img src="http://www.holysh1t.net/forum/bb-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" /> ) That's it for now.
