For those of you that love QuakeLive and have been playing it competitively, you may have noticed something missing in the competitive scene. You've scored flag caps, destroyed other people with your teammates in Clan Arena, and dominated teams with Team DeathMatch. And then it hits you. The massive carnage and chaos of Free For All action! Gamefire is proud to cover the first Free For All tournament of QuakeLive brought to you by QuakeLiveLadders.com on July 18th at 1:30 PM EDT!
For those of you who don't know or haven't heard of QuakeLiveLadders, Douglas Lovin aka DLovin, has this to say about his website:
"Our main goal with QuakeLiveLadders is to bring you a community directory of leagues, events, and team information. We will also be bringing weekly cash tournaments. Even if you are not interested in the tournaments, please stop by and add your team or site to our database! Help us grow the QuakeLive community!"
The tournament will be directed by the sole member of QuakeLiveLadders, DLovin, and will feature two bloody 10 man battles for a spot at the top three and some nice cash! Despite the name "Free For All" though, there will be a non-refundable entry fee of $5 to all participants. If you are interested in participating, sign up and view the rules here: http://quakeliveladders.com/tournaments/ffajuly18.html
The prize breakdown is listed as follows:
1st Place: 40% of pot
2nd Place: 20% of pot
3rd Place: 10% of pot
The rankings will be decided by the top three fraggers total over both FFA events, so that means no coasting to the finish after the first battle! For those of you with superb math skills, you'll notice the last 30% is missing. The last 30% will be used for transaction fees, and the remainder will be given to the 1st place player.
