Note: This tutorial is for people who kinda know what they are doing and not for complete novices.

Ok a few people have asked me for this and due to the lack of mme getting the right look to a video can be tricky. I am currently working on a quake live movie called 'The Rush' due to be released this year. This is a tutorial on how to capture your footage from quake upto getting the final render. I based this technique it around a long conversation I had with auri one afternoon when I started to think about making a quake live movie and he gave me some advive tips etc, so ty auri. Lastly I made this in about 1 hour tops so dont expect it do be very comprehensive =].

    Step One:
First of all you need a demo in vista they are located in the following directory:

    C:\Users\%\AppData\LocalLow\id Software\quakelive\home\baseq3\demos

You then need to start a practice match in quake live and run the demo.

    Step Two:
Ok this is where capturing starts.

First of all youll need to load your video config, which will contain binds such as cg_drawstatus (for removing everything apart from kill messages)
For the graphic settings I have uploaded the config I used for the rush trailer:
    Video Config

Now you will need to capture the screenshots. The command to capture is cl_avidemo, for 'The Rush Trailer' I have used 200.

    Step Three:
    Download virtualdub.

File --> Open Video File --> Navigate to the first screenshot taken, hit ok.
Video --> Filters --> Add --> Resize (Adjust to 1280*720).
Video --> Frame Rate --> Change Frame rate to 100 (CLICK PROCESS ALL UNDER FRAME RATE CONVERSION FRAMES, THIS IS A MUST =o)
    File --> Save As

    Step Three:
    Download Sony Vegas Video
Download and Install lagarith lossless codec

File --> Import --> Navigate to your movie file

    Drag File onto timeline
Right Click the file (on the timeline) --> Properties (untick 'maintain apsect ratio), (playback rate "2.00")

Cut the video down so it doesnt repeat
Right click on Video (Just above where it says 'Rate: 0.00', in the bottom left-hand side of the screen)
Insert/remove evelope --> Tick 'Video Supersampling'

File --> Render As --> Template --> Custom:
    Use these settings:

Once its rendered its onto step 4.

    Step Four:
    Download Adobe After effects
    Download Reelsmart motion blur

    In after effects:
File --> import --> file from vegas

    Apply the following:
    Auto Color
    Curves
    Settings are here:
    http://www.filefront.com/15317257/afx.jpg

Render (compostion --> pre render) this in after effects with lagarith (as it saves space).

    Step Five:
    Download meGui
    Download this x64 profile:
    http://www.filefront.com/15320945/x264_dp_%20therush.xml

Place it into the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\megui\allprofiles\x264

Now Tools --> AVS script creator --> find your file from vegas --> save

Do what you see in this screenshot:
    http://www.filefront.com/15320957/megui1.jpg
    Press 'Enque'

Now press 'Queue' and press 'Start'

    And you're done, hf =]
