QuakeCon 2010 Tournaments!
Dallas, Texas! The place to be for one of the world's most known LAN parties ever: QuakeCon! Held August 12-15 at the Hilton Anatole! But this post is not about the accomodations regarding QuakeCon, it's about the tournaments that will be played there!
QuakeCon 2010 will feature 3 tournaments:
The Intel QUAKE LIVE Masters Championship will feature a 64 of the world's best players in a double-elimination best-of-3 match system which concludes in a best-of-5 final. Prize stash consists of over $25000 and the gold spot goes home with no less than $14000! Impressive!
But that's just one, as a second tournament there will be The QUAKE LIVE Capture the Flag Championship and yes you read that right: Capture the flag. It's awesome that at such an event, CTF will be present as a tournament on such a great event as QuakeCon!
Again over $25000 (of which $14000 to the winning team) in a single-elimination best-of-3 match system.
And to conclude, there's The QUAKE LIVE Open Tournament available to any who show up to claim $1500 for first spot. A very nice prize for a free-to-all Duel competition in a single-elimination best-of-3 system.
Pre-registration for the Masters and CTF tournaments is available on http://www.quakecon.org/tournament which is also the source for rules and terms of the events. The Open Tournament is on a first-come-first-served basis, so be on time!
