Config tweaking is a part of Quake games. But wandering through the Quake Live console and all available cvars and commands is not very user friendly and still won’t tell you what everything does. Use these tables for a quick lookup of any Quake Live cvar, command or toggle, together with the default value and a brief explanation.
We know the list is far from complete and we’re constantly updating it, but by publishing what we have, new players can already be helped.

Furthermore, in the pk3 paks there are several pictures resembling this name:

Does vsay actually work on Quake Live? Well, I know it does because it’s listed here but I haven’t got it to work :<. Any instructions?
No, sadly enough it does not mean if a cvar is listed here that it has any effect. Just like the headmodel cvars which don’t do anything yet.
(And I still have a very big pile of cvars i need to update and test ingame to see if they actually work already.)
New command added in quake live:
/ragequit
what are the weapon binds, ie rocketlauncher seems to be “weapon 5″
Those can be viewed in the online hud generator (mouseover shows values)
How do you take out your clan name?
seta clan “” in console would do the trick, one would assume.
However, I’ve seen it more than often just change nothing about it.
An effective way is to open the profile page and there make the field blank and save it. That will clear it ingame too.
You should make a fourth column with shows what setting PROs usually use (example: foxs config).
Maybe a feature would be to indicate which values you definitely have to take a look at but marking which setting should have what value according to pro players is not easily done. Several pros may have different setup than others.
A better option perhaps is what we have already in the config section (which could use some expansion perhaps)
you know the site Commander keens q3 arena console page can tell a generic description of some of these commands as they come from the original quake 3 arena game but they might not match any more idk

Yeah I know Keen’s site, and already some of those commands descriptions come from him and about 4 or 5 other command list pages I still have in my bookmarks from my Q3 time (ages ago it seems)
Ok so what am i doing wrong here? on practive i’ve tried to do the /devmap thing… i open up console and type”/devmap and then leave a space and type the map name and it always says like cant find map or something like that, and i’ve tried /map and same thing…wat am i doing wrong??

The ‘headmodel’ doesn’t seem to be working. I mean, I put seta headmodel “hunter” and it keeps the xaero/red which is the model I’m using.
dzjepp, this is a list of all the commands up to August 7 that is obtained when cruising through the available commandlist in console of quakelive.
Since alot of things are still available from q3, this list as such contains those too, but that doesnt mean that they work for QL.
(This also answers Swash’s question regarding the headmodels, as idd that does not have any effect in QL)
