What a game!
It took all 3 maps before Clanbase could assign the champion title for their 13th Clanbase Nations Cup series regarding Quake Live. And seeing that these 2 finalists already met each other during the group stage, it remained to be seen what the result of this clash of titans was going to be!
After the ASUS ESL ENC released the qualification info, there have been 3 rounds to determine the 6 national teams who meet up with the pre-invited teams in the groupstage. Yesterday saw the live group drawing on ESL TV for all games participating in the ASUS European Nations Cup.
Today is a good day to… die. Not in real life as that just sucks unless you’re hit by an F16 doing a flyby through the shopping mall where you just happened to stand in line for a smoothie on a hot Spring day, as that would be a cool way to go. But I’m talking of course about dieing in the arena!
20 players in the EuroCup and 192 in the OpenCup will battle each other over the upcoming weeks until 1 player in each cup can proclaim himself the champion! Good stuff!
With the qualification matches behind them, the Clanbase Quake Live admins have divided the players into 4 groups for the 11th EuroCup, so during the next few weeks, these 20 players will face off to desperately grab a spot in the playoffs.
With the addition of 4 slot TDM servers by idsoftware recently, the path is open towards 2 vs 2 gameplay. Kuh3liga did not hesitate and announced their 2v2 TDM cup!
Once upon a time during the Quake 3 era, a fraction of the players started tricking, enjoying themselves just with doing crazy short and long jumps, combined with impressive movement skill to do very cool tricks. A whole scene even started, called DeFRaG, where the focus does not lie on fragging but on moving only and this is no different for Quake Live.
