Quake Live Tricking movie
Quake Live is well on it's way and more and more fans of the game create movies enthousiastically. Not too long ago, we presented our own first edition of Moment of Fame and it is perhaps a nice thing to once in a while post about a new and fun movie, right?
Tricking is all about the movement, and the moves in the following movie are both old stuff from Quake 3 brought back to Quake Live and some new things. Very enjoyable, both for beginners to see what's possible in the realm of Quake, and for oldskools to bring back memories of daily movement

I had a lot of fun making that too. I realized today though that I worked harder on the PR and my blog then I actually did on the video. But hey it was fun.

Didn’t really enjoy it that much. I think it’s a case of seen it all before. Most of the tricks were quite simple. Wanted more speed runs. Didn’t like the music.
Also the visuals were aweful. No lighting in a vid is a bad idea.

I liked it (not the reason why I posted it though) because I’m not much into tricking, except when they can improve my game. Pg climbing like in the vid is really nice but hardly useful :p
Still I hope they make a 2nd, perhaps with more ctf tricks that can really help to teach unexperienced players to show them what is possible. (Such as speedruns like Tweakd said)

Bugger I meant to add that i think the effort was commendable. It just lacked polish. It’s early days in QLs life though so give us a few more vids.
In fact if you guys decide to create another let me know, I have a few speed runs and plasma tricks from various maps and the training stages.

K, i’ll hold you to that tweakd. Im working on a second one, I want to wait until after qcon is over and let some of the hype die off then i’ll start on it. Ive already got a few tricks down. so dont be surprised if I dig you up in irc in a couple of weeks =).
