ESAGamer.com has officially been released into open beta, meaning anyone can register. ESAGamer is a tournament site that will work with free and paid tournaments, based on subscribers. People pay a fixed fee that will be converted into prizemoney for the tournaments. The concept is fairly simple and added up 1000 subscribers will result into £5000 prize money. The more the merrier and ESAGamer guarantees prize money tournaments for low tier players as well, given that they are subscribed, of course. Read More
A few days old now, but this great Quake Live browser has received another update. QLPrism is an all-in-one Quake Live browser/client with direct links to all the QL streams, an IRC client built-in, greasemonkey scripts for a better user-experience in the Quake Live server browser and more.
One of the most notable updates is built-in support for QLM, the Quake Live Messenger. This allows anyone to chat on IRC from within the game. The QLM bot is currently sitting cosy in our #holysh1t channel on irc.quakenet.org.
It is now also possible to switch fast between accounts. This functionality is based off the Secure Login extension made by Sebastian Tschan.

I get people from time to time asking me how my config is set up. They usually inquire about the PiP (picture in picture) setup the most, so I thought about giving a little behind the scenes view and explain how I work. First of all, I use 2 machines to get PiP going and there’s a few downsides with my method, but we’ll get to that soon. I have a Dell laptop of about 5 years old, and a desktop that I have very recently upgraded. These combined give me some flexibilty in terms of streaming and being able to do other things in the meanwhile.
Almost 2 years ago we made an article about namad‘s VisualHUd, then in Alpha stage. Now namad announced that he is working on the HUD generator again to work on some new features and bug reports. The UI of the generator will be redesigned and made clearer, and the generated code should be of better quality.
You can find the current VisualHUD generator here.

User freddejones has made an ESR thread where he introduces his new Android app named Quake Live Timer. This little app enables you to practice item timing and calculating the time between item spawns. It does not show a countdown timer on the smartphone that will show when the next item will be up. What it does do is give you exercises based on item, all you need to do is quickly figure out when the next item will respawn.
A few days ago Strenx surprised everyone when he started streaming. Much appreciated was his interaction with the viewers. He asked what he should do and viewers promptly shouted some ideas, mostly CA and “shaft only”, which he gladly did. For the lulz, right? He has announced on Facebook and ESR that he is going to commit Read More
I think I will blatantly copy this delicious copy-pasta from /r/QuakeLive, posted by grimm_: – grimm_ I was browsing the TF2 subreddit and I stumbled upon a post from MLG about suggestions for their circuit. Currently the top suggestions are adding CS 1.6, TF2 6V6, and DOTA 2. There is a Quake Live suggestion in Read More
A new clan by Phlogiston named SPAWN, a clan of charity, is trying to gather PRO subscribers (not necesserily pro players). The concept for this clan is that the members will spawn servers with premium content and then invite free players in. Members on the roster should be open to friend-requests from freebies, in orde to invite them to the servers. Read More
