In this unofficial Quake Live FAQ we answer general Quake Live questions, give tutorials and provide basic game play tips.

I have a problem. I have Windows 7, and when I enter Quake Live (or Quake 3 Arena) my screen keeps flashing like non-stop. Any solution? Thanks.
I don’t think Windows 7 is supported yet. Should ask in the beta forums :p
I am playing on the windows 7 official beta. Both Quake Live and Quake 3 are working perfectly fine. I’d advice you to uninstall your graphic drivers and install the newest ones available on the net.
For all I know it could be troubles in your web browser too, try updating it, if not already running latest version… That’s all I come up with right now, hope it helps!
It would be nice to see the additional reference on a more in-depth analysis of strafe theory to your strafe jumping section, just for the curious, ala…

I had the same problem on my nvidia card with the windows 7 default graphics driver. updated it to the driver from nvidia’s site and it’s fine now.
If there is not a windows 7 driver for your card, try a windows vista driver, it might work.
for me QL&Q3 works fine on W7!(64bit)

You might want to add a small article about how to change the ports to play with multiple friends on one server on the same internet connection.
It’s basically using different values for net_port (eg. 27960 and upwards) on each computer.
I can find how to generate a config for mac. Can anyone help me??
